SOMON AIR HOLDS MEETING WITH UK DELEGATION

On April 16 2026, the management of Somon Air met the Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Chris Allan, Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, along with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan Katherine Smitton. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation - with UK businesses keen to provide aviation equipment and services in support of Somon Air’s future expansion. The parties welcomed prospects for launching regular flights on the Dushanbe–London route.

In addition, the parties discussed how UK Export Finance can support projects in Tajikistan aimed at the renewal and expansion of the airline’s fleet, including the supply of aircraft engines for modern aircraft, such as the Boeing 787. Somon Air continues its systematic efforts to develop international cooperation and implement advanced solutions in its operations.
