SOMON AIR AVIATION TRAINING CENTER RECEIVES THE CERTIFICATE OF TRANSPORT CLEARING HOUSE

Somon Air Aviation Training Center has been certified by Transport Clearing House of Accreditation. The document authorises the training center to train Settlement System personnel. Under the code DShB01, Somon Air may conduct the training course for accredited agencies, which provide and sell services of standard transportation documents of air transport settlement system.

In Summer 2019 Somon Air opened its in-house aviation training center. The center is located at Somon Air head office in Dushanbe, and is certified by the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. It also holds a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Somon Air training center offers initial training, re-training and recurrent training courses for crew members and ground services staff. Training is conducted by experienced local personnel as well as instructors who received training at leading world training centers. Training courses are provided for cockpit and cabin crew, engineering and technical staff, staff who arrange cargo and dangerous cargo shipments and other aviation personnel who work on the Boeing 737 Classic and / or Boeing 737NG aircraft.

The training center will provide captain’s upgrade training for qualified applicants. Other courses offer accident rescue procedures, crew resource management and aviation safety training. Staff are trained on how to evacuate passengers in case of an emergency, the use of fire extinguishers on board, how to serve passengers, baggage handling, fuelling, etc. Since the opening of the center, 12 training courses were conducted and 119 participants have passed training and preparatory courses.

Somon Air currently operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkey, India, China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The fleet is comprised of Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900. Somon Air has been an IATA member since 2017.
