Somon Air - the wings of the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships

Somon Air has acted as the gold sponsor and the wings of the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships, which is being held in Dushanbe for the first time from March 25 to March 30, 2022. The championship is possible thanks to the initiative of the Tajikistan Cycling Federation and support of the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali. More than 400 athletes from 30 countries participate in the competition. Competitions are held in several categories and types of race at distances of 15, 24, 61, 111, 130 and 175 km.

“Somon Air supports athletes and contributes to the representation of national sports in the international arena. We are proud that sport is rapidly developing in our country, proof of which is the holding of high-level international cycling competitions in the capital of our state. Somon Air is always happy to contribute to the development and popularization of sports in Tajikistan,” - said Suhrob Juraev, Somon Air CEO.

The Asian Cycling Championship has been held since 1963 and combines track and road disciplines. Since 2017, the disciplines have been divided and are held in separate tournaments. The Asian Road Cycling Championship has already been held in Bahrain, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. The Asian Championship 2022 in Tajikistan is the sixth tournament in which also athletes with physical disabilities compete.
