MEETING OF SOMON AIR MANAGEMENT WITH US AMBASSADOR TO TAJIKISTAN

On April 25, the management of Somon Air held a meeting with the US Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan, Manuel P. Micaller. The meeting was of an introductory nature and took place at the airline's office in Dushanbe. The CEO of Somon Air Abdulkosim Valiev, personally congratulating M. Micaller on his appointment as US Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan, spoke about the history, strategy and plans of the airline, as well as the history of cooperation between Somon Air and such the US companies as the Boeing Aircraft Corporation, Export-Import Bank of USA and Aviation Capital Group leasing company. 

During the meeting, the parties expressed their hope for the opening of a flight between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United States of America in the future. US Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan M. Micaller noted that he would be happy with the opening of a direct flight that would connect the two countries. The CEO of Somon Air A. Valiev said that the airline plans to open a flight Dushanbe - New York - Dushanbe in 2025.

Somon Air currently operates regular flights between Tajikistan and Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The airline’s fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft.
