SOMON AIR BECAME A MITA CARGO MEMBER
Somon Air became an official member of the Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreements (MITA) Cargo which is sponsored by International Air Transport Association (IATA). The airline got a confirmation on MITA Cargo membership on July 4th, 2019.
Membership in MITA Cargo gives the airline the ability to expand its multilateral cargo relationships with other major airline partners as well as increasing Somon Air’s customer base. “For Somon Air a MITA Cargo membership is a big achievement-one of many we have recently accomplished. MITA Cargo membership will allow our relatively new airline to be viewed as an equal partner in the international cargo market along with other international airlines. Membership means that the shipping of cargo from start to finish will be a simpler process. The cost to ship cargo will also decrease as there will only be one air waybill eliminating the multiple charges along the route.” stated Thomas Hallam, Somon Air CEO.
Somon Air became an IATA member in 2017. The airline operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkey, China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The airline fleet consists of Boeing 737-300, -800, -900.
